Gijou Valley

Stroll on the Greenway in the Gijou Valley

What if we chose a walk for everyone? Between Lacaune-les-Bains and Gijounet, and to the gates of Viane, on foot, by bike, or even in a wheelchair, the Little Train greenway is fully accessible and safe. It allows for "slow mobility" strolls for the whole family. Built on the old railway line of the Little Train, along the Gijou valley, this path offers beautiful distant views, a succession of tunnels, and a remarkable site at the Gourp Fumant bridge..

Once there was a …way : The Little Train

The Little Train line, built at the beginning of the 19th century, helped open up the Lacaune Mountains before being closed in 1962. It revolutionized the lives of the inhabitants by connecting Murat-sur-Vèbre to Castres in just a few hours! Its history is still deeply rooted in memory. On the mountainside, from bridges to tunnels, this lovely green circuit allows you to imagine the wonder of the traveler of yesteryear.
