Created in 1956 thanks to the waters of the Buraut stream, it proudly ranks as the fourth-largest lake in the département.

Adventure seekers? Take on the “1,000 Steps” trail and climb all the way up to the waterfall.

Lake Vesoles is easily accessible via the RD169 road between Fraïsse-sur-Agoût and the Col du Cabarétou. A car park is available so you can set off on your adventure. So, ready for a timeless escape?

Lake Laouzas

Discover Lake Laouzas: where nature meets engineering

Welcome to Lake Laouzas, a peaceful haven perched at 790 m above sea level, between the charming villages of Nages and Murat-sur-Vèbre.

With its 323 hectares, this natural gem is also a technical feat!

The Laouzas dam, 53 m high, captures the waters of the Vèbre and its tributaries, channeling them from the Atlantic slope to the Mediterranean. Commissioned in 1965, it is a key piece of the Montahut development project.
