Discovered in 1987 in the hamlet of Escroux, the Borie de Blavy statue-menhir is a remarkable male representative of the megalithic art of the Tarn.
Carved from a hard and compact schist, it is distinguished by the clarity of its engravings, which are astonishingly well preserved. One can clearly make out a belt, a baldric, a scabbard, as well as finely traced arms, hands, and legs. The presence of elements like the pendant-dagger is intriguing and fuels specialists' hypotheses. While it follows the traditional codes of regional statue-menhirs, certain details, such as the absence of patina on the engravings, give it a singular appearance.
