A wild and demanding trail between Caroux and Espinouse: ridges, breathtaking panoramas, steep climbs and iconic passages like the Roquandouire Gate.

Starting from the picturesque hamlet of Douch, this 25.1 km route takes you deep into the Caroux and Espinouse massifs. The climb up to the Tour sets the tone immediately, offering a mineral atmosphere and a 360° viewpoint over the surrounding mountains.

The rest alternates technical trails and spectacular views: the ridge of Serre de More, a tough 250 m ascent over just 2 km, then the impressive Roquandouire Gate, a natural rock arch dominating the landscape. Further on, the hamlet of Caissenols-le-Haut and its autonomous refuge offer a welcome break before the challenging climb to the Col de l’Ourtigas (300 m of elevation over 2 km), this time in the shade of chestnut trees.

A final open plateau reveals stunning views before reaching the finish. Beware: the route is very exposed to the sun and water sources are often dry during summer. Bring plenty of water and strong legs to fully enjoy this immersion between Caroux and Espinouse!
